Do's and Dont's
Only Hindus are allowed to enter the Temple. Enter the temple with an absolute sense of devotion.
Devotees can purify themselves by taking bath in the River nearby and can enter the Temple preferably with wet clothes. Extreme care has to be taken while entering the river. Water flow may be varied according to the climate and heavy torrents are expected during the Monsoon.
Do not enter the temple wearing Shirt, Trousers/Pants, Banyan, Pyjama, Lungi, Chequered clothes, Footwears etc. There are facilities to keep them outside the Temple.
Do not take Digitial/Video/Still Camera, Mobile Phone, Radio, Tape recorder etc. inside the Temple wall.
Photography is prohibited inside the Temple wall and Naalambalam.
Do not throw coins/currency notes to the Sreekovil or over any diety. Bhandarams are available to deposit the money.
Do not touch on the big altar stone (Balikkallu) by foot.
Do not retain babies and children for a long time within the Nalambalam. Any sort of Asudhi caused thereby will lead to Suddhi rituals and the cost has to be remitted by the person responsible.
Do not spit in the Temple premises.
Follow the temple rules and regulations, so that all can comfortably worship the Lord. Co-operate with the Temple officials, who are always ready to guide and help the devotees.
Offerings (Vazhipadu) can be booked in the Office counter outside of the Temple wall.
